Banal na bundok: The Face of Jesus Christ in the Mountain, San Miguel, Bulacan

3:00 PM

Sunday morning when some of my relatives and I decided to go to the Church. A friend suggested to check out the Banal na Bundok from San Miguel, Bulacan since this is just a 2-hour travel from Nueva Ecija, my hometown (about 3-4 hours from Manila). This a perfect place for prayers and reflection specially during the Sundays and Holy Week.

The name “Banal na bundok” came from the form of the mountain, that visibly looks like a lying image Jesus Christ.

The mountain in front of Banal na bundok is converted into a place of prayers overlooking the main attraction, the mountain from the other side which forms the shape of the face of Jesus Christ.

Get your flex ready. One has to climb steps in this stairway, Station of the Cross statues is placed upon going up.

Here, one can stop and pray (or take some pictures maybe).

Upon reaching the top, small rooms (what I call “Mini Churches”) will get your attention. Inside, there are various Images of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary. This room is intended for those who want to pray and reflect.

At the other side of the mountain, one has to climb down the stairways. Here you’ll see some attractions such as:

Noah's Ark Wild Life & Rehabilitation Park
This attraction is still under construction (As of March 15, 2015)

If your looking for a place to go this Holy Week, Banal na Bundok is a perfect budget getaway, you can bring your own food and bond with the family and friends. As they say "The family that prays together stays together."

Enjoy and God Bless.

See you in my adventure!
